It applies to the Fashnia website, user accounts, brand accounts and the features and services available through Fashnia ("Fashnia", "we", "us", or "our").

1. Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Fashnia. You can browse parts of the platform without creating an account, while other features require us to know more about you.

Account information

If you create an account, we may collect:

your password in hashed form
your email verification status
information connected with account security or password resets

We do not store your password as readable plain text.

Profile information

Depending on what you choose to add to your profile, we may collect:

Brand accounts

If you use Fashnia on behalf of a fashion brand, we may also collect information connected with the brand account and the person managing it.

This can include contact details, brand information, logos, product information, links, information supplied through feeds or integrations and activity relating to management of the brand's presence on Fashnia.

Technical and security information

Like most websites, Fashnia receives some technical information when you use it.

session information used to keep you signed in
request and security information used to identify spam, bots or suspicious activity
technical logs used to diagnose errors and keep Fashnia working properly

2. How we collect information

Most personal information comes directly from you when you create an account, edit your profile, save products, create collections, contact us or otherwise use Fashnia.

Some information is collected automatically as you use the website, such as session, security and technical information.

For brand accounts, information may also come through product feeds, ecommerce integrations, affiliate networks or other services connected with the brand's Fashnia presence.

We use personal information where it is needed to operate Fashnia and provide the features you choose to use.

4. Personalisation and recommendations

Fashnia is a fashion discovery platform, so some features are designed to become more useful as we learn what kinds of fashion you are interested in.

Information such as products you view, save or like, brands you follow and searches you make may be used to improve the fashion shown to you in discovery feeds, recommendations and other personalised parts of Fashnia.

These systems are intended to help Fashnia understand your fashion interests. Your activity does not determine whether you can create or keep a Fashnia account.

Fashnia uses cookies and similar browser technologies where they are needed to operate the website.

We do not give service providers personal information so that they can independently market unrelated products to Fashnia users.

Fashnia contains links that take users to fashion brands, retailers and other external websites. Some of these links may be affiliate links.

When you follow one of these links, the website you visit and, where relevant, an affiliate provider may receive information associated with the visit, such as referral or technical information.

Once you leave Fashnia, the privacy practices of the website or service you visit apply to your activity there.

9. When we share personal information

Fashnia does not sell your personal information.

We may provide personal information to another organisation where there is a genuine reason for doing so, including:

service providers helping us operate Fashnia
security and anti-bot providers
email and infrastructure providers
professional advisers where their assistance is needed
authorities or regulators where disclosure is required by law

If Fashnia is ever involved in a sale, merger, restructure or transfer of the business, information held by Fashnia may form part of that transaction. If that happens, personal information would remain subject to applicable privacy requirements.

10. Overseas processing

Some of the services used to operate Fashnia are provided by companies that operate internationally.

This means personal information may sometimes be processed or stored outside Australia, depending on the service involved and the infrastructure used by that provider.

Where practical, we take the privacy and security practices of the services we use into account when choosing providers.

11. What other people can see

Fashnia includes public and social features, so some information you add or activity you choose to make on the platform may be visible to other people.

Depending on the feature and your available settings, this may include your username, display name, bio, profile image, collections, follows, likes, comments and other profile activity.

Brand pages and information published through brand accounts are generally intended to be publicly visible.

Your email address and password are not displayed publicly as part of your profile.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information and Fashnia accounts from unauthorised access, misuse, loss and disclosure.

No website or online service can guarantee absolute security, but we use technical and operational safeguards appropriate to the platform and continue to review them as Fashnia develops.

13. How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as we reasonably need it to operate Fashnia, maintain accounts, deal with security or support matters and meet legal obligations.

Information that is no longer needed may be deleted, anonymised or retained only where there is a legitimate reason to keep it.

14. Accessing or correcting your information

Some account and profile information can be viewed or changed directly through your Fashnia settings.

15. Deleting your account

You may delete your Fashnia account using the account settings available on the platform or contact us if you need help with a deletion request.

Deleting an account does not always mean that every record disappears immediately. We may need to retain limited information for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, dispute handling or technical backup purposes.

Information that has been properly anonymised and can no longer be linked back to you may also be retained.

16. Children and younger users

Fashnia is not intended to be used in a way that requires us to knowingly collect personal information from children where doing so would be prohibited by law.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to Fashnia in circumstances where they should not have done so, please contact us so we can look into it.

17. Privacy questions and complaints

Please include enough information for us to understand what happened. We will review the issue and respond as reasonably soon as we can.

Where Australian privacy law gives you the right to make a complaint to a privacy regulator, those rights are not affected by contacting us first.

18. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Fashnia will continue to change as new features are added, so this Privacy Policy may also need to be updated.

When we make changes, the new version will be published on this page and the "Last updated" date at the top will be changed.
